Our rapidly expanding client, based in Paarl, seeks to employ a Bookkeeper, to trial balance, with experience in foreign exchange transactions,  for their newly established financial department, within a manufacturing and distribution type environment.  Preference will be given to residents from Paarl and closely surrounding areas.

 This role is not suited to candidates who work on a small scale from home or for a sector outside of Manufacturing, Distribution and/or Engineering.  It is a complex role that requires the following: 

  • Matric plus 5+ years’ experience in Accounting to Trial Sheet, with foreign currency transactions and costing of manufactured products, distributions and new projects.
  • You will also have experience in assisting with annual budgets, requisition reporting, invoicing according to contractual agreements, generating payment orders for foreign suppliers, co-ordinating bi-annual stock takes and managing a small team of finance administrators.
  • You must be self-motivated, be a team player, understand the dynamics of the production/manufacturing or engineering field and preference given to those who have dealt with warranty and insurance claims.
  • You will have worked on an ERP system (SAP, SYSPRO) and have Advanced Excel skills

Our client, a leader in the packaging manufacturing sector, seeks to employ a qualified and experienced BEE Financial Manager for their operation in Cape Town.  Please note that this role is not suited to a highly corporate background and is more geared toward a hands-on manager, with a solid background in manufacturing, preferably packaging industry experience 

This role does not necessarily require a CA qualification, this will be viewed as advantageous, however, a BComm and Articles, plus 8-10 years’ experience is essential. 

  • The position is a hands-on role, managing the company’s overall financial aspect, which include preparation of company accounts, financial reporting, stock control and overseeing inventory/production costing, preparing budgets and managing internal and external audits, managing company assets, continuous monitoring and improving systems and processes.
  • You will have managed a staff compliment of 6 or more and ensure productivity and moral is optimum at all times; be au fait with (SAP, SYSPRO or related ERP system), have a solid understanding of job costing and production forecasting, including forex payments.
  • You will also have thorough knowledge of tax legislation and commercial law principals relevant to the manufacturing sector, have natural business acumen and have been involved in financial integration of systems and operations.
  • Ideally, due to the urgency to place this role, preference will be given to candidates currently resident in Cape Town and BEE is not negotiable, as part of the company’s Equity plan

Our client, a leader in the field of print and packaging, seeks to employ a Cost Analyst for their operation in Paarl.  This role is to be filled by a candidate who has experience in the FMCG, Packaging or Printing sector, who has a solid grasp on the fast pace of the FMCG and Packaging Production sector and who is able to work well independently. 

  • You will have completed a Tertiary qualification in Cost and Management Accounting or related, coupled with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Cost Analysis within a fast-paced packaging, labelling or FMCG Manufacturing plant. 
  • You will have solid and proven working experience in forecasting of production costs, provide reporting on the forecasting of raw material purchases, cost of production and generate forecasts of sales, report on variances and analyse financials such as general ledgers, journal entries and financial statements, as well as assessing risk and reviewing more efficient processes to ensure profitability of production.
  • You will have experience in managing stock levels, inventory control of raw materials and finished goods, as well as analysing the variances and cost of sales.
  • Solid experience in SYSPRO or SAP essential, as well as Advanced Excel and
  • You will have excellent organisational skills, natural business acumen and above average interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

This challenging position for an experienced Accountant with a B.Com degree and at least SEVEN YEARS  of  solid Accounting experience, to handle the full accounting function including  FOREX controls, Statutory responsibilities, and preparation for Audit.    Ideally you will have sound technical capacity which could possibly include serving articles, with extensive use of ACCPAC / SAGE 300, as well as VIP Payroll and Advanced Excel.   You will have the ability to work as part of a team, have good communication skills, be proactive and a self-starter and able to handle deadlines and pressure of high volume work at times.

The main functions of the position are:-

  • Cashbook control
  • FOREX experience
  • Audit preparation and liaison with auditors over queries.
  • Preparation of General Ledger Reconciliations
  • VAT compliance and follow up
  • Payroll and all statutory requirements
  • Monthly reporting, statistics and ad hoc projects

Compliance is a high focus in this team due to work on donor funds from international donors, and therefore strong administration skills, attention to detail and an ability to follow through to ensure all functions adhere to regulations, are absolutely necessary to be considered for this crucial role.  You will report to the Business Manager and be part of a busy operation which works both locally and internationally.

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing and engineering services sector, seeks to employ a Financial Manager for their operation in Paarl.  This role is newly created, due to expansion of this division, which now needs its own financial team, thus the person must have had prior experience in starting up a financial department from scratch. 

  • You will have completed  BComm or relevant qualification (a CA is not necessary), coupled with 8-10 years’ experience in Accounting to Balance Sheet, strong Costing and Management experience and working knowledge of managing foreign transactions.
  • You will have proven experience in preparing the year-end audit file, annual budgets, management reporting and managing the fixed asset register.
  • Prior experience in managing stock levels, costing projects and cash flow reporting is essential, with stock models being monitored on an ERP system (SAP or SYSPRO).
  • You must have experience in Board reporting, as well as having natural business acumen and partake in strategic decisions on further expansion ventures.
