This position within an International organisation working throughout Africa, requires a well-experienced Financial Manager with sound experience within the NON-PROFIT sector.   It is   ESSENTIAL that you will have experience of DONOR REPORTING and control of donor funding, and project financial administration.   This is a hands-on, practical accounting role which reports to the Financial Director, so does not involve the strategic level.   The crucial element is that your experience will have involved strong levels of control and compliance within Donor reporting and that you can supervise two clerical accounting  staff to meet the high standards required by this organisation.

 Ideally you will have a Tertiary Accounting Degree or diploma, at least eight years of sound accounting experience within the Non-profit sector which will include Donor Reporting and Compliance management and experience of supervising lower level staff..  Own transport would be a strong advantage.

 This position requires  at least ten years of sound experience in :-

Rand and Foreign Currency Administration, Invoicing and receipting

Sage processing and reports,  Debtors Statements and Spreadsheets

Processing exchange variances on receipts and FEC conversions  

Foreign currency CFC Account recons to ensure all receipts are entered 

Journal Debtor and Creditor match offs      

Liaison with Clients, Monitoring Debtor payment terms and deadlines, and chasing receipts for due dates    

Strong control checks required and debtors queries solved          

Preparation of Debtor reports and reviews

Coordinating Debtor meetings, and liaising with Finance Manager, and Directors, and reporting on debtors            

Liaising with the logistics department regarding dispatches and Invoices etc. (Understanding of Logistics)        

Checking and submitting Debtor Insurance

Assisting with VAT201 returns and SARS correspondence

Stock reconciliations

 The ideal candidate will be well versed in the above requirements, and be deadline driven, highly accurate and have excellent skills in SAGE AND EXCEL.   You will be readily able to access the FORESHORE premises of this company.

Our client, a manufacturing and packaging service provider, based in Paarl, seeks to employ a proactive and dedicated Accountant, who has previous working experience in the manufacturing sector.  

  • You will have completed a BComm degree or equivalent, coupled with 5-10 years experience in managing financial accounting up to balance sheet, as well as a solid understanding of Costing, within a manufacturing environment, dealing in foreign exchange is essential
  • You must have above average and proven working experience in budgets, cash flow reporting, job costing reviews, variance analysis, stock ordering from foreign suppliers and ensuring correct payments and transactional records are made, as well as full fixed asset register and contract management.
  • Experience on an ERP system such as SAP or Syspro is a must.
  • This is a fast paced and progressive environment, therefore you must be a team player, be able to multi-task and pay close attention to detail

This medium sized, well-established Financial Services and Accounting firm is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant who has specialised in TAX and who has a minimum of five years of sound experience within this field.   This is a Supervisory role and needs a competent and capable person who has the level of skill to work independently but supervise junior staff when necessary.   This is not for a person who has no Financial Accounting expertise – the B.Com with Financial Accounting III is important, preferably combined with Professional Tax qualification and expertise.

 The successful candidate will

  • Have B.Com or similar qualification, with Financial Accounting and sound Tax experience, 
  • Possibly  be a qualified Tax Professional
  • be experienced in supervising a small team.
  • be well versed in handling both individual tax matters as well as company tax across a range of different clients.
  • have the ability to build a good relationship with SARS and understanding of their procedures and systems (E-filing).
  • Have sound expertise on Excel and Pastel.
