Our client, an established multinational manufacturing company, based in ATLANTIS, along the West Coast, Cape Town, seeks to employ a qualified Junior Cost Accountant for their fast paced plant. You must either be resident in the surrounding areas or be willing to travel or to relocate to the surrounding areas, with preference to those who currently reside in Cape Town.

 The position is ideally suited to a candidate who has completed a B-Tech in Cost and Management, through a recognised South African Tertiary institution (please note that no other qualification will be accepted) coupled with 1 years’ experience,  preferably within the FMCG or a fast paced manufacturer or alternatively have cum laude or distinction results and limited experience.

You must have a sound understanding of Costing within the manufacturing sector, be willing to work within a fast paced manufacturing environment and have above average results in your qualifications (Results will be required for review).

It would be beneficial if you have experience in a Non-Profit environment and understand the nature of donor funding and reports.

 The successful candidate will :-

  • Handle General Ledger and preparation of Financial and Cash Flow Management reports and Banking
  • Assist with Budgeting and other ad hoc duties allocated by Financial Manager
  • Maintain Donor reporting and Grant compliance
  • Maintaining HR administration and have experience in payroll preparation.
  • Be able to analyse, compare information and have good problem solving skills in terms of errors and anomalies.
  • Have sound knowledge of statutory requirements and legislation, and submission of returns
  • Hold high ethical values and principles, confidentiality, discretion  and an ability to work in a diverse team.

This role requires a competent person who does not need close management, and who is professional, pro-active and able to prioritise when there is more than one aspect happening at once, as it is a busy and demanding environment at times.
