Our client, a market leader in the bulk transportation of construction materials, seeks to employ Trade tested, qualified and experienced Workshop Manager for their operation in the Durban. 

 The position is a hands on role, whereby the Workshop Manager leads a team of Diesel Mechanics but also gets involved in complex mechanical failure of vehicles, as well as workshop administration, managing operating expenses, budgets and reporting on Excel is essential. 

 Working knowledge of diagnostic tools and complex problem solving is essential and preference is given to those with experience in vehicular electronic systems.

 This role would not suit a candidate who has not been exposed to managing staff, you must have a proven track record in managing staff, performance, meting of KPI’s and planning/delegating of tasks both daily and monthly. 

 In addition, you must have sound working knowledge of HSE, be computer literate in Excel (Intermediate or Advanced), be able to lead and delegate effectively and

 This role is NOT suited to Mechanical Engineering graduates or those who have not completed a recognised trade test, through a South African accredited institution.  This is also not suited to candidates from a vehicle dealership or car rental based sector, this is geared toward candidates from the Transportation sector only

 You will reside in and around the West Rand and be available to travel, often at short notice, to attend to breakdowns or attend to site based equipment problems when needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen, within a multi-national Architectural and Engineering Design firm, at their Head Office in the United Arab Emirates, for a Senior Architectural Design Manager.  You must have the relevant qualification in Architecture, coupled with a valid SACAP registration and 10+ years experience in Design and Project Management of high end structures. 

 This position is a permanent role, therefore relocation to the UAE will be required and the ideal candidate will be a South African, who will lead the Design team in the UAE, as well as be the interface with the South African Office. 

 You must have proven employment history in bid management, risk management for South African participation, resourcing for global pipeline projects, drafting master project plans and resource planning for estimations and proposal, team allocation assessment and management, as well as budget allocation, meeting management, deliverables and progress reporting, change management reviews and department/staff management.

You will be well versed in Contract Law, understand the dynamic of the consulting environment, have a proven track record in managing constructive and cooperative working environments, have excellent planning and organisational skills and be a motivator and effective communicator.

Previous working experience in an International multi-disciplined Design team (including engineering aspects) would be highly advantageous

Our client, a well-established, progressive and professional architectural design firm, based in the Gardens/Cape City Centre, seeks to employ an Office Manager and Personal Assistant to the three Managing partners. 

 This is a high pressure role, one requiring a candidate who has worked for either an Architectural firm, or alternatively for a Facilities Management firm or Consulting Engineering practice, as a Personal Assistant and/or Office Manager.  Please note this is NOT a role for a facilities manager but one of Administrative Support to a team of Architects.  You must have your own reliable vehicle and a list of contactable references and prove your adaptability and ability to thrive under pressure.

 

  • The role requires a dynamic, assertive, proactive organiser and you will have a proven track record in accuracy, minute taking, assisting the architects with printing drawings, council submission progress reporting, typing of quotations, following up on quotations sent to potential upmarket clients, draft site meeting reports, issue payment certificates and assist the Bookkeeper with batching of invoices.
  • You will also be able to manage several tasks simultaneously, be proactive in assisting with marketing (social media, creative ads for magazine supplements and monitor the various company information emails), coupled with maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment. 
  • You will have proven experience in co-ordinating the diaries of partners, be available to them for PA type functions and represent the company in a professional manner when dealing with clients.
