This Animal  Rescue organisation is looking for a mature Supervisor, who has a passion for animal welfare, to supervise the small team of  cleaning and animal care staff, and to ensure that the premises are in good working order.    This position would suit a person who perhaps has taken early retirement or looking to make a contribution to the welfare of animals and their daily care.  In terms of the need, ideally this person has some background as a “handyman” and has the ability to handle light repairs and maintenance in the premises. 

The role requires a person who has a very strong attention to detail, health and safety, and high standards of ethics and values.

Because of the nature  of the organisation, there is a need for strong supervisory skills and an ability to motivate and train staff.

You definitely need to be passionate about animals and have an ability to assist with their care and exercise programmes.

This prominent Animal Welfare organisation relies heavily on donor funding to sustain both the animals and the running of the organisation, and therefore it is essential to maintain long term relationships with supporters and to create new opportunities to grow the database of people who will support this crucial operation.  Working as part of the Fundraising team, this role is responsible for leading the donor retention strategy, as well as driving the recruitment of new and upgraded donors.  It is essential that you have a passion for animals and can align yourself with the mission of the organisation – COMBINED WITH THE ESSENTIAL SKILLS AS OUTLINED BELOW.

 This role demands the following attributes and skills:-

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form, particularly in English and Afrikaans
  • Ability to be primary point of contact for all supporter enquiries – and to provide quality supporter services such as thank you letters
  • Be able to analyse data and trends to understand donor activity and behaviour, and improve effectiveness
  • Provide support to the other team members to enhance their results and success (e.g. peer to peer fundraising, or events)
  • Manage the telephone fundraising unit, including the development of systems, and controls for debit orders  and lapsed donors
  • Continually seek new methods to improve telephone interaction with donors and generation of increased funding.
  • Excellent computer skills on Database systems such as Access, as well as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines, and ability to plan ahead.
  • Ability to be an active member of the Fundraising team in terms of all functions and events that take place throughout the year.

This  prominent Animal Welfare organisation is looking to appoint a qualified Training Officer who, as part of a small team, will prepare, co-ordinate, organise, and deliver training material and courses for animal welfare staff.  This role calls for a person who has passion for animals COMBINED WITH THE SKILLS necessary to carry out these duties.   Passion for animals is not enough, as you will need to be dedicated, thorough, creative, flexible and highly service oriented in training as well.

 This high-pressure job, calls for :-

•          Code 8 Drivers Licence and own vehicle

•          Police Clearance Certificate

•          Matric minimum education level.

•          Very good command of English language – spoken and written, and possibly Afrikaans and one Black language.
