Our client, a national market leader in the field of innovative industrial packaging printing, imaging and labelling, seeks to employ an energetic, well presented, go-getter, with prior working experience in a highly target driven sales and product support environment. 

The position does require extensive cold calling, new business development and canvassing of potential new leads in the Gauteng area and potentially, also further afield, therefore previous working experience in the above sectors is essential, calling on manufacturing companies, factories and packaging plants, with a solid understanding of technology similar to laptops, printers, software and office automation. 

Please note, that although we will not exclude candidates with a suitable background, the role is highly technical role, whereby the person MUST have a solid understanding of the packaging and print sector.  It is NOT media print industry but manufacturing print and the person will have to have a sound technical background to be able to provide technical support, as well as solutions to potential customers. 

In addition, you must have completed Matric, have your own reliable transport, a valid driver’s license, fluency in English and Afrikaans and advanced computer literacy for presentations and database/CRM management.

You must have business acumen, understand profit margins, be an expert negotiator and be able to work independently, draft your own presentations, quotations and estimations, as well as act as the main liaison between company and customer during installation and maintenance/service contracts.

 Your mission in this role is :

  • Ensuring monthly sales and presentation targets are met through new business development and repeat business from existing clients
  • Prospecting continually for new opportunities through cold calling and networking, and determining the client’s needs.
  • Continual service calls on a regular and systematically planned basis
  • Excellent presentations and proposals to prospective new clients across companies in the greater Western Cape which will involve travel to outlying areas.
  • To negotiate Service Level Agreements with clients to the benefit of both company and client.
  • Assist with the planning and marketing strategies within the sales team in the Cape
  • Being accountable for all supporting documentation and administration pertaining to the sales and clients in this portfolio.
  • To be full aware of competition and related trends and data in the field, so as to ensure effective sales in the future.
  • To have a full understanding of all aspects of the educational sector and related Government regulatory requirements

An exciting opportunity for career growth and development has arisen for a Business or Marketing graduate, who has gained 1-2 years Sales Administration/Key Account Support based experience, within the FMCG/Manufacturing sector and wants to further their career into Key Account Management and external sales. 

 

  • The position will require you to have an outgoing, professional and proactive personality, coupled with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, meet strict deadlines, communicate effectively in English and maintain high levels of accuracy and quality.
  • Advanced Excel skills are a must, as well as working on an ERP system such as Syspro, Prism or SAP
  • You must have your own reliable transport and have been exposed to high quality standards required from customers in the retail sector.
  • You will have an excellent telephone manner, be able to manage complaints efficiently and manage routine orders and delivery dates according to schedules and specifications, as well as co-ordinate pricing and CRM updates.
  • A clear credit and criminal record is essential (verifications will be conducted on qualifications and credit records) and a list of contactable references must be provided.
