This long-established and successful company manufactures various wood product ranges, and is looking for a well-experienced sales representative who will call on interior decorators, retail stores and other sources of sales of various décor products.   Your sales

experience will include being able to build long-term relationships with clients across the greater Cape Town region, the Helderberg as well as  the Garden Route and Eastern Cape on a regular calling pattern, so an ability to travel without hindrance is essential.

 You will ambitious and self-motivated to succeed, and meet monthly targets to enable you to generate commission and bonuses.  You will be organised and able to plan routes so as to be effective, and to service clients on a regular basis.    You will preferably be fully bilingual, and have at least four years of sound sales repping experience.   This is NOT a position for someone in Retail – we will only consider people who have been in the road, cold calling, prospecting for new opportunities and generating new business.

Your work record will indicate good organisational skills and an ability to follow through to ensure an accurate result.

 The position does require an outgoing personality, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to gather relevant information in a technical environment. Our client, an International industrial printing and scanning equipment market leader, seeks to employ an energetic, well presented, go-getter with prior working experience in a highly target driven sales and product support environment, with preference either in the Imaging/Printing/Labelling or Packaging sector, having a tenacious “selling” character and a knowledge of networked systems. 

The position does require vast cold calling, new business development and canvassing of potential new leads in the Western Cape, therefore previous working experience in calling on manufacturing companies, factories and packaging plants, with a solid understanding of technology similar to the packaging, labelling and networked systems  is essential but this role is NOT for the Office Automation sector, it is for a manufacturing company dealing in similar technology.

In addition, you must have completed Matric, have your own reliable transport, a valid driver’s license, fluency in English and Afrikaans and advanced computer literacy for presentations and database/CRM management.

You must have business acumen, understand profit margins, be an expert negotiator and be able to work independently, draft your own presentations, quotations and estimations, as well as act as the main liaison between company and customer during installation and maintenance/service contracts.
