Our client, a well-established and reputable packaging and FMCG production equipment manufacturing company, seeks to employ a Sales Engineer, who has attained an Engineering qualification (with preference given to Mechanical Engineering) and who has gained 5+ years’ experience in business development and sales of production and packaging equipment.

 PLEASE NOTE:  THIS IS NOT A ROLE FOR TECHNCIANS OR ENGINEERS, YOU MUST HAVE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE TO QUALIFY FOR CONSIDERATION

  • You must have a proven background in Technical Sales, from managing the full sales process,  identifying new clients and developing business relationships to concluding the sales cycle, as well as prospecting and cold calling, following up on leads and building profitable relationships with existing and prospective new clients.
  • You will also have experience is design and commissioning of such equipment and being able to problem solve with the customer and fabrication team.
  • You will be administratively competent, able to analyse costing requirements and calculate costings, estimations and draft quotes.
  • You will be fluent in English and Afrikaans – have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as be proficient in drafting and presenting presentations to executives and decision makers at prospective clients.
  • You will be able to travel nationally when required and have a valid, unendorsed driver’s license, coupled with a clear credit and criminal record, as well as contactable references (verifications will be conducted).

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly professional and successful sales person to add value to the educational sector in South Africa, and to ensure the upliftment and upskilling of people who previously missed opportunities to grow successful careers.

 The core function of this role is to generate business opportunities from decision makers in commercial and industrial clients who are looking to grow their staff in all avenues of adult education – from literacy, and foundation programmes to project management and entrepreneurial development.  Included in the spectrum of programmes are specific training and development courses for work readiness, and for those with impaired sight and hearing. 

Your mission in this role is :

  • Ensuring monthly sales and presentation targets are met through new business development and repeat business from existing clients
  • Prospecting continually for new opportunities through cold calling and networking, and determining the client’s needs.
  • Continual service calls on a regular and systematically planned basis
  • Excellent presentations and proposals to prospective new clients across companies in the greater Western Cape which will involve travel to outlying areas.
  • To negotiate Service Level Agreements with clients to the benefit of both company and client.
  • Assist with the planning and marketing strategies within the sales team in the Cape
  • Being accountable for all supporting documentation and administration pertaining to the sales and clients in this portfolio.
  • To be full aware of competition and related trends and data in the field, so as to ensure effective sales in the future.
  • To have a full understanding of all aspects of the educational sector and related Government regulatory requirements

Our client, an international leader in the field of industrial printing, labelling and scanning, for the food and beverage sector, seeks to employ a dynamic, well presented and go-getter for their operation in Durban.  This role requires a vast amount of cold calling, you must be tenacious, persistent and commission driven.

 This role does require candidates from a technical background and ideally suited to somebody who has 3-5 years’ experience in providing print and labelling solutions to the production sector or alternatively who has worked in a “hard sell” environment, like office automation, PABX sales or any other highly competitive environment.

 

  • You will be self-motivated, target driven, professional in appearance and through your interpersonal skills and have high energy levels.
  • You must be prepared to travel across the KZN region, have you own reliable vehicle and an unendorsed, valid driver’s license.
  • You must be fluent in English, with the ability to converse in Afrikaans and have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • You will have a sound understanding of profit margins, customer retention and generating additional business through customer service.
  • As mentioned previously, a vast majority of this role is new business development and therefore you will be comfortable to cold call and plan new business strategies.
  • A clear credit and criminal record is essential, coupled with a list of relevant and contactable references.
